The initiative provides comprehensive training on obtaining a cannabis business license in New Jersey, boosting accessibility for those eager to enter this burgeoning market.
Flexible Learning for Aspiring Cannabis Professionals
Designed with flexibility in mind, the CTA program offers an online platform where participants can progress at their own pace. Covering topics such as business planning, municipal approval, licensing requirements, standard operating procedures, zoning, and insurance, the courses ensure thorough preparation for future challenges. With over 60 courses available, participants earn an official CTA certification upon completion, which they can submit as proof of expertise when applying for their New Jersey Cannabis Regulatory Commission (NJ-CRC) license.

Since its inception in October 2024, the Cannabis Training Academy has attracted over 1,300 participants, establishing itself as a national leader in cannabis education. Tauhid Chappell, Executive Director of the CTA, highlighted the program’s significance by noting its comprehensive reach, available to all New Jersey residents over 21—providing continuous, online access year-round. This initiative is hailed as the country’s most extensive cannabis technical assistance program.
